“You can tell a lot about a person by what’s on their playlist”. On my playlist / Fall 2016.

“You can tell a lot about a person by what’s on their playlist”. On my playlist / Fall 2016.

“You can tell a lot about person by what’s on their playlist”. True. I couldn’t agree more. Music is something I’m deeply passionate about. And something that I’ve always been passionate about. Probably since the very young age. The first thing I do, when I open my eyes, is turning on the music. The last thing I do at night, before I go to sleep, is turning off the music. Well, to be precise, I let the timer shut it down. I fall asleep while listening to the music. That’s how important music is to me. It literally means everything.

I also think music is something that connects people. I don’t think I ever had friends or girlfriend that had completely different taste in music than me. Music is definitely one of the factors I’m interested in while meeting new people. Maybe that sounds funny to you, but I think that in some kind of way, music defines you. It defines the way you live, the way you think and most importantly the way you feel. And that means, that music plays an important role in your life. Well, at least in my life. It definitely plays… on repeat. Whole my life. Every day. Not a minute goes by that I’m not enjoying it. The music.

I never particularly understood when someone say they like all kind of music. Or the expression: “Well, I listen to everything” or “I listen to whatever is on the radio”.  What does that even mean?! The same way I never understood people whose answer on everything was “Whatever”. “I listen to whatever”. “I’m like whatever”. “I don’t know. Whatever.” You can’t be whatever. Whatever is basically not an answer. It’s not yes and it’s not no and then it could be any of those two. It’s undecided. And I don’t think undecided is something anyone should want to be. Well, if you’re undecided about what you like to listen, about something that defines you, then what does it say about you?! I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s always better to be yourself, even that means you listen to the kind of music that you really do like but no one else really does, than to be a “whatever, I listen to everything” kind of person. At least, that is my opinion. Be genuine rather than everyone else. And not just when it comes to music.

Anyways, don’t get me wrong; I said I’m really too passionate when it comes to music. Here is what I like to listen. These are some of my favorite songs ever. And my favorite genres of music. It’s Indie, Indie-Rock, Folk, Singer-Songwriter. The songs are rather dark than bright. Rather mellow with some distinctive sounds and expressive lyrics. Very meaningful songs that can take you to some different place at some different time. Songs that make you feel. Even something that you didn’t even know you could feel. Songs that are so beautifully crafted that you’ll actually understand the real emotion a singer wanted to express. And all these songs somehow have a similar feature. And that is they really go great along the Autumn/Winter season, cloudy weather, rainy days and solitude.

When days get colder, when grey skies appear and the night falls earlier, it’s so great to bundle up, put my earphones on and walk through the busy city streets while this playlist playing. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Ever. Nothing comes close. These are some my favorite songs. Ever. Nothing comes close. (Still, some of the songs I’ll never reveal, I like to think they’re only mine).  Enjoy.

First of all, great playlist. *thumbs up*

Secondly, I can’t agree more about this statement that music defines a person. That is definitely and completely true. There have also been some studies which found a correlation between person’s music taste and it’s IQ, so even from the scientific view, this is a big deal.

I also adore music. If I don’t turn on some sound in my house, I kinda feel “claustrophobic” and unnatural. Also, I have many different playlists ( happy/emotional/ day playlist, party/working/traveling playlist etc.), depending of what I need from music in that particular day.
Behind all of my “big” moments is music involved and that keeps my memories untouched because every time I hear a song that is referring to something of “mine”, I feel like I’m re-living it again. =)

    Great post, cheers!
