For my first trip to Paris, I had in mind staying in a small, boutique hotel, very centrally located that also serves a good breakfast. After a bit of researching and trying to fit all the criteria that thick all the boxes, I eventually found exactly what I wished for in the Adele & Jules hotel.
Situated just a few minutes away of driving from Gare du Nord (you can use taxi or bus), in a lively neighbourhood but in a very quiet street, Adele & Jules is, as I’ve learned later, a double hotel, consisted of total 60 rooms, in twin brother and sister buildings. Owned by brother and sister, each of the hotels, Adele and Jules have their own entrance. I’ve stayed in the Jules hotel.
While I was going to the hotel, I already loved the district I was driving through and everything it has to offer. Cafes, restaurants, shops, shopping malls, theatres, attractions… literally everything you need is a few steps away. Later on, the fact that everything is near seemed like an even better idea, especially when going back to the hotel late at night hungry and realizing that there is such a good crepes place just around the corner from the hotel. That was such a brilliant surprise! And crepes were, too.
Entering the hotel, I’ve already seen it has a great style. The reception, the little lobby and the eating space, all done with such a great style. Not a big space but more than enough for a breakfast or just to sit down on a couch for a chat or some reading.
But the actual first thing to notice about this hotel, and the most important in my opinion, was the hospitality of staff. Everyone I met on the reception, over the couple of days while staying there, was so nice and so helpful. I already felt like home and haven’t had even reach the room yet.
There are four room categories in this hotel, from the ground floor up to the 6th floor: 35 Parisian Superior, 12 Faubourg Deluxe, 11 Boulevard Club and 2 Capital Junior Suites. (*including 4 which are fitted out for guests with reduced mobility). I’ve been given the Boulevard Club Room on the fourth floor. The elevator at the entrance of the hotel is fast and big enough for two or three people with luggage.
Enterning the room I was really impressed. It looked even better than on the photos. You have a nice king size bed or twin beds (depends on the configuration You wanted). The room has a capacity of maximum three people as there is also a sofa in the room. Other than double sofa bed, there are also: Shower or bath, Desk, Bluetooth acoustic speakers, Individual air conditioning, 40″ flat-screen tv, Personal safe, Free broadband wifi, Mineral water, Bathrobes, Slippers, Fragonard courtesy products and Nespresso machine & tea service. Some room even feature a Parisian balcony – subject to availability.
The view of the room was also pretty cool overlooking Parisian rooftops. The bathroom was so nicely designed and also had blow dryer and digital scale.
The bed was very comfy, the pillow too, which is not such an often combination you find in the hotel rooms. I have some problems with my neck spine so it’s really important for me to sleep on a good mattress and pillow. Usually I have a neck pain in the morning when changing beds and not sleeping on my pillow but this time I had none. So I can really say they are awesome.
In the morning you can go for a breakfast in the breakfast area on the ground floor or you can have breakfast in the room. Guess what I decided for? :) Yeah, breakfast in room was awesome. Not only you can eat it while in bed and in the privacy of your own room but the breakfast alone was delicious. So many things to choose from. The picture speaks for itself.
So yeah, the hotel pretty much has it all. There’s even a gym that unfortunately I had no time to visit, since my every day workout on the streets of Paris while visiting all the attractions was more than enough of activity for a day. But that was such a nice surprise. And if it rains, have no worry – the red umbrellas are waiting for you at the entrance of the hotel. So they had thought of everything. I really liked my stay here and I’ll definitely be staying again next time I’m in Paris.
