Paris a big city. That means it has a lot of things to see. Lot of sightseeing, lot of attractions. But you also have to have in mind that all the attractions are not that close to each other. Yes, you can use the metro every day, go here and there or you can do it like I did and book the hotels that are in the near of the attractions you plan to visit on particular days of your stay. Well, you know how I feel about using the metro, especially in the city like Paris. You miss the whole beauty of the city streets, amazing architecture and that city vibe that Paris is full of. I am rather walking, no matter how far something is. So to make it a bit easier for me, for the last part of my trip to Paris, I chose the hotel that was near the main attractions I wanted to see on this remaining part of my itinerary. Close to the Eiffel tower and basically just 1 km away from Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysée. XO Hotel Paris. Exactly what I was looking for.

Situated in a new building, just a (big) street away from Arc de Triomphe, XO Hotel is a brand new (opened in March 2017.) 4stars hotel in 17th arrondissement. The guests have the choice of 58 rooms over 6 floors. It welcomes business travelers as well as families and locals and it’s the perfect spot for those seeking a bit of quiet in the center of the fast-paced City of Light.

I’ve stayed in a Classic room on the second floor. But before I got to the room, upon the check-in I was given the room card and also the card for a wine machine that was situated in the wine tasting room. I was also told that every day there is a happy hour where you can enjoy free wine tasting. Such a great surprise and a nice gesture.

From the lobby, two big elevators take you from the reception to your floor in a matter of seconds. As I said my room was on the second floor and then down to the hall. Entering the room I could already see that it was decorated with such a great style; blue, grey and yellow colours that all matched perfectly. Twin or double bed, two chairs and tables, Nespresso machine, complimentary bottle of water, mini bar and a big TV mounted on the wall. Immediately when you enter the room there is also the door for the bathroom which was very modern looking all in black and white tiles.

The room was clean, the bed was comfy and I slept very well every night even the hotel room window was facing the street outside. But it is such a peaceful neighbourhood and there is little to no traffic on the street outside the hotel so there was no worry for any noise that might be coming in.

There are several types of breakfast in the hotel. Express, the Buffet and the Continental; the later one being served to the room. Guess what option I decided for :)

You can choose from scrambled eggs with little sausages, cheese, cold-cuts, fresh fruit, cereal, dairy products to the highlights of a French breakfast: pastries, buttered bread with honey and jam, along with fruit juice and various hot beverages. The breakfast was excellent. So many choices and very tasty.

After you’ve done with the breakfast you can rest in the lobby, have a glass of orange water, do some work on the computer, watch the TV or even play chess.

And when you come back to the hotel later in the day, after a full day of walking, make sure to go the wine tasting room and have a glass of some fantastic wine. There are really some great choices there. So choose your preferred wine at the ideal temperature, by the glass, and enjoy the rest of the night. Such a great idea. And highly recommended.
